Neurologist Physician – Epilepsy Medical Service (M/F)

Deployed across several sites, the Institution de Lavigny consists of a neurological hospital with outpatient consultations on two sites, a residential department for adults with disabilities, featuring intellectual impairment or physical issues, a specialized school, and a workshops and vocational training sector.

Our Epilepsy Medical Service is looking for a:

Neurologist Physician - Epilepsy Medical Service (M/F)

Do you wish to put your expertise in neurology at the service of patients with complex medical needs, while evolving in an interdisciplinary environment and contributing to the training of healthcare professionals?

You will actively participate in the management of outpatient and hospitalized patients, the interpretation of EEG examinations, as well as the development of quality of care, in close collaboration with medical and nursing teams.

Your missions

Medical management and clinical expertise

• Autonomously ensure the follow-up and management of outpatient patients of the Epilepsy Medical Service
• Interpret electroencephalograms (EEG) performed on outpatient and hospitalized patients
• Participate in the management of hospitalized patients, in collaboration with the chief epilepsy physician
• Ensure the quality, safety, and continuity of care
• Guarantee a rigorous transmission of medical information, in compliance with institutional directives and legal requirements.
• Contribute to risk management by reporting incidents and deviations from current procedures

Teaching and training

• Participate in the supervision and training of trainee doctors, particularly in the fields of neurology and epileptology
• Contribute to the teaching activities of the service and, depending on needs, deliver specific courses, particularly on epilepsy
• Maintain and develop your professional skills, by ensuring your continuous medical education in accordance with FMH requirements
• Contribute to the continuous training of employees and the updating of their knowledge

Interdisciplinary collaboration and service development

• Collaborate closely with the University Neurorehabilitation Service and other professionals involved in patient care
• Develop exchanges with external medical partners, notably the neurology services and neuroscience departments of university and regional hospital establishments
• Participate in the organization and continuous improvement of the service, ensuring the quality, efficiency, and relevance of services
• Take part, in collaboration with the relevant chief physicians, in the organization and supervision of the on-call service

Your profile

• You hold a medical degree and postgraduate training in neurology, with an FMH title or an equivalent qualification
• You hold a certificate of competence in clinical neurophysiology (EEG)
• You benefit from an authorization to practice in the canton of Vaud or meet the conditions for an application
• You possess solid clinical and diagnostic skills, particularly in the interpretation of EEGs
• You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and know how to collaborate with interlocutors from different specialties
• You demonstrate autonomy, rigor, a keen sense of responsibility, and a constant commitment to the quality of care
