As a Cantonal Dentist, you are responsible for public health in the field of dentistry in the Canton of Bern.

Your tasks

Supporting the Cantonal Physician in:

• Enforcement of federal and cantonal laws
• Advisory activities for the government, directorates, offices, parliament and parliamentary commissions
• Participation in supervisory investigations and proceedings regarding dentists
• Medical devices: reprocessing, maintenance, vigilance (dental and medical practices). Establishment of self-declaration and militia inspectorate with the responsible employee of the PAD

Your profile

• Federal or equivalent recognized dental diploma
• Clinical experience
• Recognized advanced training title or equivalent advanced training
• Knowledge of tasks within the framework of public health
• Very good knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system
• German or French native language and good knowledge of the other national language

The Cantonal Medical Service is responsible for medical matters of health prevention and health promotion, the fight against communicable and non-communicable human diseases and for medical questions of inpatient and outpatient care. It enforces the Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG) in its area, performs specialist medical supervision over healthcare professions as well as the relevant permits and licenses. Furthermore, it also performs health police tasks.
