Do you want to professionally support elderly people and follow a solid and varied training with a lot of practice? At the St. Urban retirement home, we offer you an exciting apprenticeship position to become an ES certified nurse with a specialization in long-term care.

Your training: ##

During your studies, you will progressively take responsibility for the care and support of our residents. You will work in different residential groups - notably in our Freitag center in the Annemarie and Margrit dementia houses or in the Eschenberg and Sonnenblick residential groups in the main building.

• Professional care and support of people suffering from chronic illnesses
• Execution of nursing acts and medical techniques
• Participation in the care process as well as maintenance of care documentation
• Assumption of specialized and shared responsibilities in shift work
• Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team
• Participation in prevention and quality assurance
• Safe and solution-oriented action even in complex situations

Training model: ##

• Duration: 3 years (shortened training possible: 2 years)
• Employment throughout the entire duration of the training at the St. Urban retirement home
• Training contract with the ZAG Winterthur or Careum Zurich 50 % school / 50 % practice
• Semiannual alternation between school and practice
• Start of training in March and September

You bring: ##

• Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC), maturity or general education school certificate (ECG)
• Successful aptitude test and confirmation of admission from ZAG Winterthur or Careum Zurich
• Interest and pleasure in working with elderly people and those with dementia
• High social competence and empathy
• Good capacity for observation and perception
• Autonomous, reliable and responsible way of working
• Flexibility and willingness to learn
• Very good knowledge of German, oral and written
