Animal Caretaker specializing in laboratory animal care

This is the contribution you can make

• Rearing and care of our animals (cattle, small ruminants, pigs, chickens and mice) incl. regular service on weekends, public holidays as well as night shifts
• Activity as a butcher: professional slaughtering and butchering of livestock, according to legal requirements and principles of animal ethics
• Cleaning of stables and maintenance of animal housing facilities in the indoor and outdoor areas
• Taking measures in connection with animal testing: collection of blood samples, cooperation with our veterinarians and researchers
• Compliance with strict hygiene regulations in the various animal housing units
• Working under strict compliance with animal housing and animal testing regulations according to animal welfare legislation (TSchV and TVV)

• Solid experience in handling agricultural livestock

To protect against viral animal diseases and zoonoses

The Institut für Virologie und Immunologie IVI works on innovative solutions to combat viral animal diseases and zoonoses and ensures diagnostics in crisis situations.

Animal diseases, newly emerging diseases in animals and infectious diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans (zoonoses), present society with great challenges. We work interdisciplinary in the sense of One Health to contribute sustainably to the health of humans and animals.
