The Palliative Care department offers expertise in specialized palliative care at both the Waid and Triemli locations. In the acute palliative ward «Zentrum für Palliative Care» at Waid, we care for and treat adult patients with advanced, incurable diseases whose medical and psychosocial situation necessitates more intensive support. In Triemli and Waid, with the interprofessional consultation service for specialized palliative care, we offer advice and support for all professionals and their patients, as well as an outpatient clinic for outpatient patients and their relatives. In addition to the location-specific offerings, we are committed to the palliative care network of the city of Zürich and beyond the city limits. We are looking for an empathetic and motivated personality (m/f/d) from 01.01.2027 or by arrangement.

Tasks ##

  • You commit yourself to the best possible patient-oriented palliative medical treatment and care of our patients on the palliative ward in Waid.
  • In addition, you conduct an outpatient clinic across locations, support specialist consultations, and care for and advise the relatives of our patients with high empathy.
  • With joy, you engage sustainably in the further education of our assistant physicians and act as a valuable coach in challenging situations.
  • You maintain a constructive cross-disciplinary exchange and good interprofessional cooperation with other specialist departments and professional groups.
  • As a specialist, you are a competent contact person for questions regarding Palliative Care internally and externally.

Profile ##

  • Specialist title in General Internal Medicine/Anesthesia/Surgery/Neurology FMH or a Swiss-recognized equivalent
  • Experience in specialized Palliative Care desired, preferably a sub-specialty title in Palliative Care (or the willingness to acquire one)
  • High social competence in dealing with difficult situations.
  • Empathy and sensitivity in dealing with seriously ill patients and their relatives
  • Very good communication skills and joy in expanding interdisciplinary and interprofessional cooperation.
  • Commitment to actively shaping basic, advanced, and further education as well as quality assurance
