The University Clinic for Dermatology has an inpatient department and a large outpatient clinic with numerous specialist consultation hours, including the skin tumor center and surgery. Dermatopathology, as a link between diagnostics, treatment, teaching, and research, represents a strategically important medical focus of the clinic.

• Close teamwork among dermatopathologists/pathologists and with clinicians.
• Independent diagnostics across the entire spectrum of dermatological histopathology.
• Weekly presentation of histological specimens during clinicopathological discussions, as well as in collaboration with the skin tumor board.
• Continuous adaptation of the service and performance offering.
• Initiation, management, and support of research projects involving dermatopathology.
• Participation in teaching, continuing education, and advanced training.

What you bring with you ##

• Specialist in dermatology with completed advanced training / focus on dermatopathology or specialist in pathology with profound expertise in dermatopathology.
• You have already obtained the diploma for dermatology in Frankfurt (ICDP - UEMS International Board Certification in Dermatopathology) or will do so shortly.
• You enjoy morphology and want to be responsible for high-quality dermatopathology at our clinic.
• Application of molecular pathological diagnostics for dermatological, dermatopathological, and dermatopaediatric questions.
• You show interest in academic dermatology and pursue your own research activity.
• You think and act flexibly, work independently, and are resilient.
• You communicate with style in German (oral and written), knowledge of the French language is an advantage.

Our offer ##

• In our accredited dermatopathology laboratory, 20'000 skin specimens are processed and examined annually. Our offering includes routine examinations on paraffin-fixed material and frozen sections (Mohs surgery) as well as a wide range of (immuno-)histochemical examinations.
• In addition, there is close cooperation with the pathology of the University of Bern, which, as the operator of the Clinical Genomics Laboratory of the Inselspital, also offers comprehensive molecular pathological diagnostics.
• Our histology laboratory is also recognized as an ICDP training center and strives to promote professional junior staff.
