Senior Physician Subacute Ward

The Spitalverbund Appenzell Ausserrhoden, with the Akutspital Herisau and the Psychiatrisches Zentrum AR in Herisau, ensures the expanded basic medical care for the population in the Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.

In the Klinik für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie under the leadership of Frau Dr. med. Mirjana Vidakovic, Tanja Romano is looking for a Senior Physician in the subacute ward area for the Herisau location as of 1. January 2027.

Your tasks

• Ensuring acute psychiatric treatment and care for all patients in the assigned area, taking into account existing house guidelines and under professional supervision and supervisions with high treatment quality
• Close cooperation with the nursing ward management regarding organizational matters and processes, if necessary promoting interdisciplinary cooperation with professionals and institutions involved in the treatment
• Case-leading treatment of patients in individual, couple, and family settings including crisis interventions
• Continuous further development of the treatment offerings in cooperation with the responsible Senior Physician
• Leadership, further education, and supervision of assistant physicians
• Participation in medical continuing education and training
• Participation in the senior medical on-call service

Your profile

• CH-recognized degree or advanced further training to become a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy
• Experience in inpatient acute psychiatry
• Committed and communicative personality with organizational skills
• An integrative leadership style completes your profile
