Senior Physician Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology with perspective Co-Leadership (60–80 %)

Immediately or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed Senior Physician for our pediatric gastroenterology. Depending on qualification and experience, there is the possibility to take over the co-leadership of the department directly or as part of targeted professional development.

Your tasks

• You manage the entire spectrum of gastroenterological and hepatological diseases in outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations and independently perform endoscopic examinations.
• You work within our established multi-professional treatment teams.
• You supervise and promote assistant physicians, fellows, and medical students.
• You participate in the general pediatric on-call service (approx. 1-3 shifts per month).
• Depending on qualification, you take over the co-leadership of the department directly or prospectively and actively participate in its further development.
• You have the opportunity to participate in clinical research projects and initiate your own projects.

Your profile

• You hold a specialist title in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine with a focus on pediatric gastroenterology or an equivalent, recognized qualification in Switzerland.
• You bring sound clinical experience in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology as well as in endoscopy.
• You are a committed, communicative, and team-oriented personality who enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration and professional development.
• Ideally, you have leadership experience or an interest in taking on leadership responsibility and actively helping to shape the department.

Your work area
The pediatric gastroenterology at Ostschweizer Kinderspital covers the entire spectrum of diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, the liver, and the pancreas. In our clinic, we care for patients from newborn to adolescence and perform around 2'500 consultations and 300 endoscopic examinations annually. As a recognized SIWF training center of category B, we attach great importance to close interdisciplinary and multi-professional cooperation. Our new building on the shared campus with the Kantonsspital St. Gallen opens up additional possibilities for professional networking and development.
