The Kantonsspital Obwalden is an innovative, versatile primary care hospital in Central Switzerland with clinics for General, Trauma and Visceral Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Women's Clinic as well as Anesthesia. For our interdisciplinary emergency station and emergency practice, we are looking for per 01 December 2026 or by arrangement, a Med. Medical Practice Assistant (MPA) Emergency Reception and Emergency Practice (a) 40 - 70% with deployment on approx. two weekends per month and public holidays (10:00 - 19:00). Your tasks * You are the first contact person at the reception of our emergency station for patients and relatives. * You advise our emergency patients, relatives and referrers in administrative matters professionally and competently. * You operate the telephone exchange of the emergency reception. * Various administrative and organizational tasks such as recording patient data, sending emergency medical reports to family doctors will also be your tasks. * You record the services according to Tardoc. * You are responsible for processing emails as well as the collection of deposit payments. * Assisting with wound care, ECG, blood collection, applying splinting material, injections. Your profile * You bring a completed training as a medical practice assistant, healthcare assistant or medical secretary. * You have experience with common IT programs. * Resilience, structured thinking, motivation and sense of responsibility are further qualities of yours. * High social competence and very good communication skills help you in the emergency daily routine. * You have a pronounced customer and service orientation. * You have very good German skills in word and writing. Foreign language skills in English and French are also an advantage. * You are willing to work 2x per month on a weekend or public holiday.
