Scientist Oligonucleotide Chemistry & Innovation

The person designs the chemical modification concept for novel oligonucleotides such as siRNAs and ASOs and thereby drives drug discovery forward.

Tasks

• Development of the chemical modification framework for siRNAs and ASOs in drug discovery
• Collaboration with computational platforms and synthesis teams to build new oligonucleotide libraries
• Analysis of experimental data using computational methods to refine chemical designs
• Translation of chemical concepts into synthetically accessible structures
• Tracking new technologies to improve safety, stability and therapeutic effect
• Collaboration with biology, pharmacology and toxicology teams to evaluate biological effects

Profile

• Doctorate in oligonucleotide chemistry, organic chemistry or related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the biotech or pharma industry
• Experience with various oligonucleotide modalities is an advantage
• Sound understanding of modern modification patterns such as 2'-O-Methyl, 2'-Fluor, LNA, cEt
• Knowledge of delivery technologies such as GalNAc, lipid or peptide conjugates
• Ability for independent problem solving and for collaboration in interdisciplinary teams
