Senior Physician Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry 50 - 100 % SG

Geriatric psychiatry with perspective: inpatient responsibility, outpatient leadership option and the development of a specialty with Memory Clinic. In the St. Gallen area, we are looking for a Senior Physician with a special function or a Senior Physician with a special function for geriatric and neuropsychiatry at a workload of 50 – 100 %, starting immediately or by arrangement. In a clinic with several locations, an interdisciplinary team awaits you with scope for design between inpatient and outpatient care.

What awaits you in this responsible task

• Your focus is on inpatient care, whereby you take over the professional leadership of the interdisciplinary team in partnership-based dual leadership with the nursing ward management
• You lead the geriatric and neuropsychiatry specialty with the outpatient sector, day clinic and Memory Clinic
• You independently and as a case manager carry out treatments of outpatient patients in individual, group and family settings including documentation, correspondence and performance recording
• You ensure therapeutic and medical care together with assistant physicians and psychologists
• You promote networking with surrounding geriatric and nursing homes and undertake visits as well as consultative and supervisory inquiries
• You participate in the clinic-wide on-call service, with the option to work alternatively at different locations or exclusively at one location

What you bring with you

• Specialist title for psychiatry and psychotherapy or shortly before completion of this training, with interest in the specialty of geriatric psychiatry, the acquisition of which is gladly supported
• Experience in the treatment of psychiatric patients or in geriatrics or neurology
• Cantonal license to practice in the Canton of St. Gallen or the requirements to obtain this before starting employment
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing, at least level C1
