Shape the future of oncology at Stadtspital Zürich

Medical Oncology and Hematology have developed into independent, highly specialized disciplines in recent years. To meet this development as well as the increasing requirements for patient care, research, and teaching, the two departments at Stadtspital Zürich will in the future be led by their own respective chief physician management.

For this demanding key position, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded and visionary leader. In this function, you will be responsible for and shape the strategic, professional, and cross-site further development of oncology at Stadtspital Zürich and, together with the chief physician management of Hematology, shape the future of modern, university-level cancer medicine.

Tasks ##

• Professional, strategic, and personnel leadership of Medical Oncology at a center hospital with several locations
• Ensuring and continuous further development of high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with solid tumor diseases
• Establishment and further development of sub-specialized oncological focuses as well as strengthening the positioning of the department
• Promotion of precision oncology, molecular diagnostics, and personalized therapy concepts in close cooperation with internal and external partners
• Close interdisciplinary cooperation with the tumor center, organ centers, pathology, radiology, as well as other clinical departments
• Partnership-based and equal cooperation with the Chief Physician of Hematology on strategic, organizational, and medical issues
• Establishment and maintenance of cooperations with university centers as well as active participation in research, teaching, and clinical networks

Profile ##

• Specialist title Medical Oncology (FMH)
• Proven clinical expertise in the treatment of solid tumor diseases with broad experience across multiple tumor entities; focus competence in visceral or uro-oncology is an advantage
• Sound understanding of current developments in the areas of precision oncology, molecular diagnostics, genetic counseling, as well as immunological and cellular therapies
• Several years of leadership and management experience at executive level at a university or center hospital; leadership training is an advantage
• Experience in the establishment, further development, and positioning of specialized clinical structures as well as in cross-site organizational forms
• Strong social competence, authentic appearance, as well as the ability for collegial and consensus-oriented cooperation in the two-chief-physician model with Hematology
• Habilitation as well as proven commitment to research and teaching
