The Heilsarmee Schweiz is a church and social non-profit organization and offers uncomplicated support to people in challenging life situations. On behalf of the Stadt Bern, it offers places in collective accommodations for people from the asylum and refugee sector. The Kollektivunterkunft (KU) Tiefenau in Bern has 492 places and could be expanded to a capacity of 750 places.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed personality as an employee.

Your tasks

• Contact person for residents regarding health and psychological concerns
• Implementation of medical initial assessments and triages
• Initial support for injuries and wounds within the scope of existing competencies as well as organization or referral for further medical care.
• Support in the organization and coordination of medical assessments and treatments as well as mediation between residents and external health professional centers
• Organization of interpreter services for internal and external appointments and organization of necessary transport services
• Management, care, and updating of medical client files and data protection-compliant documentation in NFAM
• Professional support for civil service workers, interns, and new employees in your own specialist area.

What you bring with you

• Completed training in the health sector (e.g., Fachfrau/Fachmann Gesundheit EFZ, Pflegefachperson HF/FH, Medizinische Praxisassistenz or comparable training) and professional experience in the healthcare sector
• Experience in working in the social or asylum sector / with people from different cultures is an advantage
• Transcultural competence
• Very good German language skills in speaking and writing; English, French, and other language skills are an advantage
• Good knowledge of MS Office and handling databases
• Quick comprehension as well as networked and flexible thinking
• Independent and reliable way of working
• Careful and respectful handling of different people
• Maintaining a professional proximity-distance relationship in contact with residents
• Ability to convey complex medical matters in a way that is appropriate for the target group
• Ability to act calmly and solution-oriented even in challenging situations
• Teamwork skills and willingness to provide mutual support
• Flawless criminal record and special private extract
