The Department of Medicine (DMED) ensures comprehensive and specialized care for female and male patients, in both hospital and outpatient settings. Driven by a human, holistic approach based on the best medical practices, it offers reference care in many specialties (cardiology, gastroenterology, pneumology, angiology, and nephrology), with 24/7 availability. Within this department, the Infectious Diseases Service aims to reconcile clinical activity meeting the needs of a university hospital with academic research and teaching activity with the Faculty of Medicine. It ensures the diagnostic and therapeutic management of female and male patients suffering from infectious pathologies, including HIV/AIDS. It relies on a medical team specialized in infectious diseases and microbiology and develops its activities in close connection with many hospital partners to guarantee multidisciplinary and high-quality care.

This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment which aims to ensure the compliance of work organization with the Labor Act (LTr).

Job description ##

As an internal medicine physician, you have begun your training career in internal medicine and now wish to orient yourself towards obtaining the title of specialist in infectious diseases.

In this context, you will join the Infectious Diseases Service and participate in the activities of various specialized consultations, notably in general infectious diseases, with immunocompromised individuals, the elderly, in the field of septic orthopedics, and HIV/AIDS, through rotations.

Under the supervision of senior physicians, you will ensure the management of the female and male patients entrusted to you, both in outpatient and inpatient settings, within the entire institution. You will progressively develop your clinical expertise by being confronted with various and sometimes complex situations, which strengthen your analytical abilities, your clinical judgment, and your ability to adapt quickly to new medical contexts.

Thanks to your sense of organization and rigor, you will ensure the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic activities necessary for the management of female and male patients. You will ensure compliance with internal rules and procedures, with a constant concern for the quality of the medical services provided.

Faced with the diversity of consultation requests and the complexity of certain clinical situations, you demonstrate composure, discernment, and good stress management. Your intellectual curiosity prompts you to deepen your knowledge and understand the stakes of the situations you face. You also welcome constructive feedback with openness and use it as a lever for progress in achieving your training objectives.

Evolving in a stimulating and demanding university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, you will also participate in the training of medical interns. You will collaborate closely with all medical-care teams of the institution, in a proactive approach centered on the needs of female and male patients. You will ensure the maintenance of clear, respectful, and adapted communication, both with your colleagues and with the people being cared for and their relatives.

Furthermore, you have the possibility to participate in ongoing research projects within the service.

As part of your training career, you will develop your skills in accordance with the training plan and FMH requirements for three years within the service. The latter offers an environment recognized for the quality of its teaching, a wide range of activities in infectious diseases, as well as development opportunities promoting the obtaining of the FMH title. You will also benefit from personalized support through coaching sessions, targeted training, and regular supervision provided by senior physicians as well as clinical heads and head clinicians.

Qualifications ##

You hold a federal medical diploma or have a diploma recognized as equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales (MEBEKO). You justify at least three years of experience in general internal medicine or already hold an FMH in general internal medicine. First experience in clinical infectious diseases is an asset. You aim to obtain the FMH specialist title in infectious diseases and wish to complete all or part of your training within the service.

You have a perfect command of the French language (C1 level required) and a very good capacity for written and oral expression.

Possessing excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible, and committed person. In addition, you have demonstrated strong adaptability.

You can work both in daytime hours, as well as night and weekend hours.
