Nurse within the Mobile Emergency Team (EMU) at 80% in CDI

The mobile emergency team (EMU) was created in January 2025 after IMAD positioned itself by proposing its participation in the cantonal project "Réseau des Urgences Genève (RUG+)" (a project aiming to extend the emergency response in the canton) through the implementation of a mobile team taking charge of non-vital emergencies. Several public and private partners are taking part in this project.

This nursing team is integrated into the Unité Mobile d’Urgences Sociales (UMUS). The mobile emergency team's vocation is the management of emergencies level 3 (non-vital emergency, requires additional examinations and/or investigations) and 4 (emergency without particular risk, management can be deferred).

Your missions and responsibilities

• Evaluate the nature of the request coming from a professional at the sorting and orientation center attached to 144 and respond as quickly as possible or direct the situation to a more suitable service if necessary
• Intervene and jointly with your nursing partner conduct an evaluation by providing clinical expertise by quickly assessing the somatic and psychic health status of the beneficiary
• Propose to the beneficiary means aimed at reducing the intensity of the perceived emergency
• Take all necessary measures to ensure a stable general physical and psychic state and, if necessary, coordinate the intervention of suitable medical or para-medical partners
• Proceed with the written assessment of each intervention by precisely relating the evaluation, the services offered, as well as the solution(s) chosen by and for the beneficiary
• Ensure the coordination and follow-up of situations within the Geneva health-social network
• Use the available IT tools allowing the follow-up of situations
• Evaluate the relevance of the management of each intervention and participate in the quality process
• Participate in colloquiums and team supervisions, outside of intervention hours
• Intervene actively in meetings with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in nursing or training deemed equivalent
• Minimum two years of professional experience
• Knowledge of the Geneva socio-sanitary network
• Experience or appetite in the field of medical emergencies, unscheduled mental health care
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in an interdisciplinary team
• Excellent capacity for adaptation and delegation
• Sense of responsibility and solution orientation.
